If you've never hired a professional landscaping company for a full installation, the process can feel opaque. What do they actually do? How long does it take? What do you need to do? Here's a clear, honest walkthrough of what to expect when working with Lebanon Scapes & Construction.

Step 1: Initial Contact and Site Visit

It starts with a phone call or form submission. We'll schedule a free on-site consultation — usually within 3–5 business days. During the visit, we walk the property with you, discuss your goals, assess drainage and soil conditions, measure the areas involved, and answer your questions.

There's no pressure and no obligation at this stage. Our goal is to understand your vision and see exactly what we're working with.

Step 2: Proposal and Contract

Within a few days of the site visit, you'll receive a written proposal outlining the scope of work, materials, timeline, and total investment. If you want to proceed, we review the contract together, collect a deposit, and schedule your project on our calendar.

Step 3: Material Procurement

Before your installation date, we source your plants, pavers, soil amendments, and other materials. For plant installations, we visit nurseries to hand-select healthy, high-quality specimens — not whatever is sitting in a box on a shelf.

Step 4: Site Preparation

Installation day begins with site prep — clearing existing vegetation if needed, marking utilities, setting grades, and preparing soil. For hardscape projects, this includes excavating the base. For landscape installations, it includes bed preparation and soil amendment.

This phase is often the dirtiest and loudest part of the process. Expect equipment and crew on your property.

Step 5: Installation

Hardscape projects involve compacting base material, setting edge restraints, laying pavers, and finishing joints. Landscape installations involve planting, staking larger trees, installing irrigation (if applicable), and applying mulch. Lighting installations run wire, place fixtures, and connect to a transformer.

Step 6: Cleanup and Final Walkthrough

We don't leave until the site is clean. All debris is removed, excess soil is hauled, and the property is left better than we found it. Then we do a final walkthrough with you to review every element and answer questions about care and maintenance.

What You Should Do

Mark any underground utilities or irrigation lines you know about before we arrive. Keep pets and children clear of the work area during installation. Ensure we have access to water for irrigation system pressure tests and plant establishment watering.

Questions at any point? Call us. We stay accessible throughout every project.
